31-year-old Albanian Alber Bako who is believed to be behind at least foor shootings in Athens with one death was lead to the prosecutor of Piraeus on Thursday morning. He will be brought again the prosecutor at 9 a.m. on Friday morning to discuss the shooting at a bar in Mikrolimano, Piraeus, where he open fired, injuring at least 11 people.

In his confession, the perpetrator of the shooting said that he alleges to have been drunk and unaware of what was happening. The police are looking for the two kalashikovs and the gun that the Albanian shooter had with him. Coastal guard divers are seeking the weapons in the sea area of Mikrolimano where Bako says he had thrown the weapon following his attack.

The suspect will be brought to the prosecutor at the courts of Evelpidon at 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon to discuss another three cases that he is allegedly involved in, including one in the region of Metaxourgeio where a 43-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting on October 31.

The man had also fired a gun into the air at a bar on Michalakopoulou Street after an argument and he is also suspected of firing at a cafe in the central suburb of Agios Panteleimonas on the night of October 6 though there were casualties.

The man was tracked by the police after CCTV footage and witness testimonies were given during his attack at Mikrolimano. Authorities had been looking for him since he violated the terms of his parole where he had been serving time for a series of robberies. He ahd been expected to report to his local precinct on November 1.

He was located at noon on Wednesday at the neighborhood of Goudi where he was arrested in the house of a 23-year-old Albanian national who has also been arrested as being an accessory.

The police are now looking for two of the 31-year-old man’s associates who are involved in prostitution and in offering protection to bars.

A police source said that Bako had been drinking orange juice at an outdoor cafe just three hours prior to being caught. “When we caught him he was speechless,” says the police officer. “He couldn’t believe that we had entered his house.”
