4.6 magnitude earthquake rocks Rhodes

No damage or injuries reported

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake shook the island of Rhodes on Tuesday morning. The epicentre was located 10km south of the island and the tremor hit at approximately 4.40am, according to Athens Geodynamic Institute. The mayor of the island was was reassuring speaking to Skai TV, stressing that no damage or injuries had been reported, while adding that the locals were used to such earthquakes. “It is fortunate that most tourists, who are unused to such earthquakes have left”, he said. The tremor was also felt on the western coast of Turkey.
