5 arrests in connection with Air France union brawl

Air France sweeping plan for 2,900 job losses and longer hours left executives shirtless after they were attacked in an angry brawl

French prosecutors point to five arrests in connection with the Air France union brawl where two executives were left shirtless. The meeting a week ago was focused on job cuts at the airline following its financial losses.

Unionists assaulted the managers, including the head of human resources. They fled over a fence after their shirts were ripped off.

The Bobigny prosecutor’s office confirmed the five arrests on charges of aggravated assault. The men could face a maximum of five years in prison.

Air France blames the violence on “isolated” individuals. The talks regarding job cuts have resumed.
