A new strong 5.4-magnitude earthquake occurred just before 1.30am on Thursday at 77km south-east of Karpathos, according to the Geodynamic Institute.
The focal depth was 10 kilometers and it was felt in Rhodes.
The Euro-Mediterranean recorded the tremor at 5.9 Richter, 74 km southeast of Karpathos and 144 km south of Rhodes with a focal depth of 2 km.
No injuries or damages have been reported.
