660 suspected pedophiles have been arrested in the UK

Amongst the arrested are doctors, teachers, members of Scouts, nurses and retired police officers

The police in Britain proceeded to the arrest of 660 suspected pedophiles during an undercover investigation which lasted for six months.

According to the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NCA), the investigation team consisted of 45 police directorates across the country, in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland which focused mainly on people who receive access to images of minors on the Internet.

Among the people arrested are doctors, teachers, members of Scouts, nurses and retired police officers. Over 400 children are now “safe” thanks to these arrests.

Of the 660 people arrested, 39 of them were on record cases as sexual offenses who had already been convicted once for a sexual offense. However, the majority of those arrested, some of whom had unsupervised access to children, was not known to the authorities.

Overall, the investigating teams had conducted raids on 833 addresses and searched 9,172 computers, mobile phones and hard drives.
