New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo assembled at Bellevue Hospital for a press conference following the positive test results.

“Today, testing confirmed that a patient here in New York City has tested positive or Ebola,” began Mayor de Blasio.

New York City Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Mary Travis Bassett said that Spencer got in touch with four people. Those contacts are Spencer’s girlfriend and his two friends, who are kept in isolation, and a taxi driver, who is not considered at risk.
