A series of stabbing attacks in Jerusalem

The wave of violence continues in Israel

A series of stabbing attacks on Monday continued the wave of violence in Israel this month, with three suspected Palestinian attackers dead and at least five Israelis injured, according to reports.

Confrontations over the last two weeks have caused four Israeli fatalities, according to officials, whereas at least 27 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem, according to Palestinian reports.

Several of Monday’s attacks were carried out by Palestinian teenagers.

Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced new security measures in order to quell what he called “the terror of knives”.

At the Knesset session, he called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to denounce incitement and condemn terrorist attacks.

The Palestinians accused Israel of escalating the violence and most of the Knesset’s Arab lawmakers walked out in protest when the Prime Minister started talking.
