Afghan migrants briefly occupy highway in Thessaly

Return to hotspot later

150 Afghan migrants blocked the Larisa-Trikala national highway, Friday, demanding to be granted political asylum. The migrants, who were hosted at the nearby reception centre, a military facility turned hotspot near the village of Koutsochero, occupied the road demanding the opening of the northern borders in Greece so they can continue their journey to northern Europe. They finally departed and returned to the hotspot a little after 7pm in the evening.
