A video demonstrates how a detachable cabin could save the passengers’ lives

A Russian inventor claims he has designed a detachable cabin which could save the passengers’ lives in case of a plane crash.

Vladimir Tatarenko has unveiled a video demonstrating how his detachable cabin idea would work.

“Surviving a plane crash is possible. While aircraft engineers all over the world are trying to make planes safer, they can do nothing about the human factor,” Tatarenko reportedly told LiveLeak.

Tatarenko, who has been working on this patented concept for three years, shows in a video how the cabin can detach at any time during the flight and safely land on water or ground with the help of parachutes.

The cabin would also include the undercarriage of the plane, so travellers would be able to save also their luggage.

This new idea, though, has raised some questions about the cost effectiveness of the design, since many say that it would raise airline ticket prices considerably.

However, Tatarenko claims that 95% of people he questioned responded they would be happy to pay more for a flight on such a plane, although he did not state the exact number of the people questioned.
