Alternate Health minister: 1,500 permanent doctors will be hired in the NHS in 2015

“For 2015, we have been assured that the posts of 1,500 permanent doctors of the NHS and 2,500 nurses have been included in the state budget,” he said.

Alternate Health Minister Leonidas Grigorakos announced to the parliament on Thursday that the Finance ministry has agreed to include in the state budget funds for 1,500 permanent posts for doctors in the National Healthcare System and for another 2,500 nurses in 2015.

“For 2015, we have been assured that the posts of 1,500 permanent doctors of the National Healthcare System and 2,500 nurses have been included in the state budget,” he said.

Mr. Grigorakos, who had been asked by independent MP Yiorgos Kasapidis to update the parliament on the measures being taken regarding the deficiencies in the Pathology clinic and the Diabetes center of Mamatsios General Hospital at Kozani, also reported that of the 800 auxiliary posts for doctors requested by the ministry 498 posts were approved.
