British human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin Clooney’s honeymoon with the famous George Clooney may have just ended, however her honeymoon with her Greek supporters has just begun as all eyes were upon her as she heroically entered the country to advise the Greek government on what should be done for the repatriation of the Parthenon Marbles. The stunning 36-year-old arrived at the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International Airport at 7 p.m. and was immediately whizzed to the Grande Bretagne Hotel in a large van.

She arrived with the legal team of Doughty Street Chambers beside distinguished Australian lawyer Geoffrey Robertson QC and Norman Palmer QC. She seemed surprised and overwhelmed by the amount of attention she received as scores of reporters and photojournalists pushed as close as they could get to a red-carpet styled walkway created to facilitate Ms. Alamuddin Clooney’s entry to the hotel calling out her name for a much coveted shot.

“I’m honored to have been invited by the government to attend a series of meetings this week,” she said in a very brief statement. “I’m very much lookin forward to it and thank you for the warm welcome.”

In Greece, Ms. Alamuddin Clooney, Mr. Robertson and Mr. Palmer will meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Wednesday followed by a tour around the Acropolis Museum.

Before becoming the world-famous Mrs. Clooney by marrying the world’s most eligible bachelor, Ms. Alamuddin Clooney had quietly and just as forcefully worked towards the repatriation of the Parthenon Marbles and was one of six lawyers to have created a reprot on the repatriation of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece in 2011.

Greece is pinning its hopes on the team of Doughty Street Chambers who are working with the state steadily to achieve the goal of the artefacts return. Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said that this is the first time that Greece has worked so systematically towards achieving its goal by basing its claim on international justice.
