Researchers uncover …430,000-year-old crime scene!

430,000 years ago, a Neanderthal man or woman was killed by two heavy blows to the head

The most ancient of crimes ever committed (so far) has been cited by archaeologists in a Spanish cave. The crime scene is … 430,000 years old, featuring the smashed skull of a humanoid.

Researchers discovered the dozens of humanoid remains in a cave of northern Spain belonging to 28 different Neanderthals.

One of the skulls bears two heavy wounds to the head. Modern criminal investigation techniques discovered that these wounds were inflicted by the same, wooden or stone, tool.

Scientists added that the wounds could not have been caused by a fall, and were definitely deliberate at the time of the Neanderthal’s death.
