Anonymous cyber war continues and ordinary citizens are called to help

Anonymous asks ordinary people to help them hack ISIS media accounts with how-to guide

Anonymous hackers are going global in their cry for assistance in shutting down ISIS-affiliated social media accounts and websites. In a message to the world, the global hackers said “the more the merrier” with links to how-to guides. The group initially claimed to have shut down 5,500 Twitter accounts in its Operation Paris #OpParis and Operation ISIS #OpISIS hacks since the Paris Attacks, but by Wednesday the figure had increased to 6,080.

The group asked for ordinary citizen’s contribution to their international hacks with guides that have been distributed through the NoobGuide, the ReporterGuide, and the SearcherGuide. Noob “explains the basic principles of DDoSing, WiFi deauth, password cracking, and various other hacking terms.” Reporter “covers launching a reporter bot against a list of Twitter account IDs for discovering, reporting, and taking down ISIS-related accounts,” and Searcher shows “how people can help Anonymous find more ISIS websites/pages/information.”

On its part, ISIS went on the defensive by issuing its own guide that had to do with internet safety. Its members were advised to follow safety tips. Most of the hacker community had a field day mocking the tips. Softpedia wrote in an articles that the sheer recommendations “show the group’s lack of cyber skills.”

ISIS reacted to the Anonymous launching of cyber war with its own response that slammed Anonymous as “idiots”. With its declaration, staff of the Hacker News were able to gain access to it through Telegram, a secret messaging app. Since then, Telegram announced it has deleted 78 Islamic State “channels.”
