Archbishop Anastasios tested positive for the coronavirus – He was brought to Athens with a C-130

It was deemed necessary to be transferred to Athens due to his age and his chronic health problems

The Archbishop of Albania, Anastasios, who tested positive for the coronavirus, was transferred to Athens by C-130 of the Hellenic Air Force (HAF).

He will be treated to the Evangelismos hospital.

Although the symptoms of the Archbishop of Albania are mild, the doctors in Tirana considered it necessary to transfer and hospitalize him in a specialized clinic in Greece, given his advanced age and some chronic health problems he is facing.

“After a recent diagnosis of mild coronavirus symptoms, it was deemed appropriate for the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all Albania, Anastasios, to go to Athens (Evangelismos Hospital) for the appropriate medical care”, according to the statement.
