BBC says Varoufakis uttered ‘cap control’; FinMin Tweets ‘contradiction’, denies

Speculation rampant — When people awake on Monday they’ll know whether banks are open or not

This was the dispatch reported in the early afternoon, Athens time:
@yanisvaroufakis tells @BBCMarkMardell: Greek Govt will be looking overnight at imposing capital controls & closing banks on Monday. #tw2
The report said Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis told BBC Radio that Athens would on consider on Sunday night whether or not to impose capital controls and keep Greece’s banks shut on Monday
The first report of these statements was given by Nick Sutton, an editor for BBC Radio 4’s “The World This Weekend” program, who Tweeted as much.
Yet Varoufakis replied on his Tweeter account @yanisvaroufakis with this: Capital controls within a monetary union are a contradiction in terms. The Greek government opposes the very concept.

The question will be undoubtedly resolved on Monday morning.
