Argentina players will meet Germany for the third time in the World Cup final

Who would have imagined that… Brazilians fans watching their rival, Argentina, fighting for the first place while their team was defeated in the semifinal, 7-1.

Argentina managed to beat Netherlands in a penalty shootout and now is ready for the third meeting with Germany in the World Cup final.

This is the fifth time that Argentina reaches the World Cup final and will claim its third trophy, while it is the third time that Argentina plays against Germany in the World Cup final. The first was in 1986, when Argentina won, and the second time was in 1990, where Germany won.

Argentina had five shots on goal and the Netherlands had two during 120 minutes of play, with the Dutch having a slight advantage in possession. However, none of them managed to score and were led to shootout. Goalkeeper Sergio Romero was the hero with penalty saves from Ron Vlaar and Wesley Sneijder and led Argentina to victory with 4-2 on penalties.
