UPDATE: Scientist of the Athens Geodynamic Institute, state that the rift that caused the earthquake is known to them and the phenomenon is not considered as very serious.

An earthquake shook Athens a few minutes after 6 p.m.

It was a 4,3 Richter quake and its epicenter was in 7 km in depth and 17 km north of Rafina at the outskirts of Athens, 32 km from the center of the Greek capital.
