“Cold shower” for Greece: Germans see only 0,7% growth

Two very different growth forecasts for the Greek economy raise concern

Leading German think tanks on Thursday raised growth projections for Greece’s economy for this year, forecasting growth of 0,7% while Greek Ministry of Economy sees growth rates of 2,7% of GDP in the comin year. This discrepancy means 3,5 billion Euros for the Greek Government. Greek Finance Ministry sources confirmed on Thursday a forecast for strong growth rates that will mark the Greek economy’s recovery after eight years of recession. They said the draft budget will also be in line with the goals of the economic policy programme for the primary surplus.
