Deputy Minister of Labor Rania Antonopoulou: “I will not resign, my resignation is at the PM’s disposal”

Provocative statement: “I thought that the money was part of my salary”!

After the outcry that was triggered by the revelation that the Deputy Minister of Labor Rania Antonopoulou had received a total of EUR 23,000 rent subsidy, she made a statement saying her resignation was at the Prime Minister’s disposal.

She admitted that she had received the rent subsidy thinking that it was part of her salary as a minister. She added that she intends to return the money.

However, she refused to resign arguing that she should be judged for her work as a minister and not for an issue that the main opposition party of New Democracy brought up for political reasons.
