Doctors Without Borders: Stop bombing civilians

More than 100 Palestinians were killed in Gaza Strip on Sunday

Doctors Without Borders (MSF), the international medical humanitarian organization, issued a statement urging Israel to “stop bombing civilians trapped in  the Gaza Strip and allow medical personnel to enter and operate safely”, according to an announcement issued.

“The majority of the dead and wounded in Gaza are civilians and medical workers are also coming under fire,” mentions the announcement issued noting that most of the wounded are women and children.

MSF field coordinator in Gaza, Nicolas Palarus, said that “air strikes are not only intense but are also unpredictable, which makes it very difficult for MSF and other medical workers to move and provide much needed emergency care” adding that “medical workers and facilities must be respected, and shooting should not occur at or near ambulances and hospitals,”.

Since the beginning of the ground operation “the number of victims increases,” MSF mentions and added that “while, according to the official line, the ground operation aims to destroy the tunnels, we see Israeli forces bombing indiscriminately and those who die are civilians”.

More than 100 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Sunday, whereas the death toll has risen to 469.
