Dozens of U.S. churches receive creepy letters from “The Waster” – police concerned

Police are worried that the Waster may have an agenda: Who is he and what does he want?

Police suspicious as dozens of churches around the US get letters from “The Waster”. The photocopied messages quote scripture and accuse eastern Tennessee and western Georgia churches from different denominations of failing to teach the messages of God and the Ten Commandments. The photo-copied letter asks church leaders: “How many people have you deceived into going to Hell?”

An excerpt from the letters states: “Here is a Cold Hard Truth! Because the Judeo-Christian religions of your world only taught ten commandments they damned all their members who died to Hell! Why are their hearts far from the first begotten Son of God? You preachers, ministers, and chaplains did not teach them all the commandments.”

Authorities show WRCB-TV one of the suspicious letters that have been delivered to almost 70 churches in Tennessee and Georgia in recent days.

“Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy,” according to Isaiah 54:16.

A man thought to be connected with the mysterious notes is shown in a church surveillance screenshot by WRCB-TV. No one has been captured or questioned in connection with the letters signed by "The Waster."
A security image caught on CCTV is thought to show a person who brought one of the letters. Though there are no threats, the letters are suspicious in nature and police are on alert.
Investigators are analyzing fingerprints from one of the letters, although they haven't figured out if there is violent intent in them.
