Draghi says waiver on Greek bonds only if first review is completed

Eurozone policy mildly expansionary he says

European Central Bank President Mario Draghi made it clear in a press conference, Thursday, in Vienna that the ECB would include Greek bonds in the waiver only if it implemented the prior actions agreed. Draghi said the ECB board discussed reinstating the waiver for Greek bonds stressing that this would be possible after the first review on the Greek program had been completed.

He estimated that the Eurozone growth rate was mild adding that ECB policies were insufficient for economic growth to take off. On the matter of a possible Brexit, Draghi referred to the risks in economic growth linking them to the outcome of the vote and the global developments. He dubbed the Eurozone’s fiscal policy slightly expansionary.

Draghi said the next two moves planned by the ECB to boost liquidity would be the commencement on June 8 of the CSPP program (Corporate sector purchase program), while the first swap in the framework of targeted purchases of long term refinancing would start on June 22.
