Elliott Erwitt: History’s photographer

He was able to capture Monroe, Castro, and other emblematic figures in their most natural poses

Famous photographer Elliott Erwitt presents his work in London’s Somerset House, during an exhibition which seems a lot like a history lesson.

Marilyn Monroe, Jack Kerouac, John F Kennedy’s funeral, and Hollywood sets (“On the Waterfront”, “The Misfits”), everyday people, and dogs, are the subjects of his photos.

He considers himself lucky for being able to take photos of people at the right moment. Many critics, however, think it’s more talent, than luck.
