“End Credits” for Kalogritsas TV license bid

In a statement, businessman Savvidis said: “We are ready to pay the first installment in two or three days.”

Yannis Kalogritsas who was one of the four winners of the TV license bidding, is reported to have asked for a 48-hour- postponement of the 18 million Euros deposit for the first installment of his total bid. General Secretariat of Information has announced that his request hasn’t been accepted because the rule was very clear about the deadline.Kalogritsas faces numerous questions over his statement of means and assets declaration, his tax returns over previous years and the level of borrowing by companies in the Kalogritsas group from non-systemic Attica Bank. Several broadcasters that failed to win one of only four national broadcast licenses have directly charged collusion between the Kalogritsas and leftist government. After the withdrawal of Kalogritsas from the procedure for a TV licence, Dimera Media Ltd, the company of Ivan Savvidis, and Alpha, the company of Dimitris Kontominas, are next on the list.Savvidis submitted 61.5 million euros in the TV licences procedure.
