Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu stated that the rotating Presidency of cyprus is necessary for the Turkish Cypriot side and that it cannot be conceded.

Dervis Eroglu said that the Greek Cypriot side wants a single ballot which would include both sides of Cyprus, something which he is opposed to. He added that this issue will be put on the negotiations table in the near future.

He reiterated that in the case that a state is created, it should be based on partnership and a rotating presidency, with a chance given to Turkish Cypriots. He underlined that should that not be the case, the Turkish Cypriot side would never feel as if it is their state as well.
