ESM chief Regling: Markets’ concern for Greece is reasonable

Because main opposition SYRIZA party has radically different views than the Government.

In an interview to the Sunday edition of Kathimerini newspaper, current managing director of the European Stability Mechanism and CEO of the European Financial Stability Fund Klaus Reggling noted that uncertainty in Greece is higher than in other countries.

“In Spain, Portugal and Ireland governments have changed but the adjustment programs were continued with small changes. The governments supported the general direction and therefore the markets were appeased,” Mr. Regling said.

The ESM chief characterized the markets’ concern for Greece as reasonable, because main opposition SYRIZA party has radically different views than the Government.
