EU Foreign Ministers formally extended the economic sanctions imposed on Russia, until January 2016.

The sanctions were extended “until Russia fulfills the obligations from the Minsk accord”, according to the Foreign Minister of the UK. At the same time, the aforementioned officials approved the beginning of a naval operation in the Mediterranean to combat illegal immigration. The deployment of the first warships, submarines and drones is expected within a week.
