After Cyprus and Greece, the lowest rates in the EU were recorded in Croatia (-0.2%), Portugal and Slovakia (each -0.1%)

Greece showed a -0.9% deflation in February 2014, which is the third lowest rate in the EU after Bulgaria (-2.1%) and Cyprus (-1.3%), according to Eurostat data released today in Brussels.

Inflation in the Eurozone fell from 0.8% in January to 0.7% in February, while a year ago it stood at 1.8%.

Inflation in the EU fell from 0.9% to 0.8% over the same period, while a year ago it was 2%.

After Cyprus and Greece the lowest rates in the EU were recorded in Croatia (-0.2%), Portugal and Slovakia (each -0.1%), while the highest rates were observed in Malta and Finland (1.6%) and Austria (1.5%).

Compared to January, inflation fell in 17 member states, remained stable in 3 and rose in 7, while there is no data for Great Britain.
