Few changes to new ENFIA invoices

The amended ENFIA tax invoices are not that different from the previous amounts, and this time it isn’t a mistake!

The Finance Ministry uploaded the amended invoices for the single property tax (ENFIA) on Taxisnet. The invoices are considered “final” except in cases where the homeowners are able to qualify for a 50% reduction to the new tax as a result of falling into the low-income category, being a member of a large family or being disabled.

Most people found that the new invoices were similar to the previous tax amounts with the exception of earthquake-hit zones such as the island of Kefalonia. Few taxpayers saw noticeable changes to their ENFIA invoices. Even those who had property values recalculated only noted 10-30% reductions to their invoices if at all.

The first of six installments for the ENFIA tax for 2014 is due by the end of September and the final installment is due at the end of February 2014.
