The Greek Finance Ministry issued a statement ruling out an extension for the filing of citizen’s tax statements. It should be noted that the deadline for submitting tax statements is August 26. The statement underlines that:
- 84 per cent of all tax statements have been filed
- The extensions given for submitting tax statements suffice
- The problems caused by any delays or omissions to citizens and accountants as a result of government failings are duly acknowledged, however the completion of tax statements is necessary
- Based on the above there will be no extension granted beyond the known dates of August 20 and 26 for all persons
It should be reminded that failure to file a tax statement on time is subject to fines:
-100 Euros (in the event books are not up to date)
-Monthly increment of 0.73 on the taxable amount
