FinMin Hardouvelis: Discussion of Greek debt will begin in December

Among the other issues to be discussed in December are the precautionary credit line and the country’s exit from the memorandum, Mr. Hardouvelis added.

In an interview published on Saturday by Imerisia newspaper, Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis underlined that the substantive discussion on the further management of the Greek debt will begin after the eurogroup meeting on December 8.

Among the other issues to be discussed in December are the precautionary credit line and the country’s exit from the memorandum, Mr. Hardouvelis added.

He also stressed that the road to reduced tax rates would open as of the new year, and that a reduction of officially set prices on real estate would be speeded up, affecting positively the unified property tax (ENFIA).

According to the Finance Minister, the only threat for the economy at this point is political instability, as consensus is required among party leaders in order to maintain the growth trajectory.
