Fire in Mycenae – The archeological site was evacuated (videos-photos)

No injuries or damages have been reported

A fire broke out at noon on Sunday in Mycenae, in an area with low vegetation.

According to the Fire Department, the few visitors to the archeological site were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire is not directed towards the archeological site, but towards the mountain.

A total of 27 firefighters are taking part in the firefighting efforts, with a pedestrian unit and 8 vehicles, while two aircraft and a helicopter are operating from the air.

According to local websites, there are 4-5 trapped citizens in near the archeological site.
