Five scenarios on flight AH5017 disappearance

Bad weather is the most probable explanation for the aircraft’s disappearance , while another likely scenario is hijacking

While the thriller whether or not the debris of the Air Algerie aircraft has been found is still on , the suspicions for the disappearance of the aircraft, at dawn Thursday, turn to five scenarios that are most likely to have happened.

So far the causes of new air mystery remain unanswered by the aircraft company Air Algerie, which was performing the flight AH5017 from Burkina Faso to West Africa, while the black boxes will surely shed light if they are detected.

Until then, the network Sky News unveils five scenarios which are considered prevalent:

The aircraft did not have enough fuel, as reported by some Algerian media. However, such a scenario seems not to be correct, as it is unlikely just 50 minutes from takeoff for an aircraft not to have enough fuel to last a flight which is estimated at four hours.

As a second scenario, the British network presents the aircraft to be shot down by rebels, adding that after the disappearance, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration issued a notice prohibiting U.S. aircraft to fly over the area and airspace of Mali for safety reasons .

The third scenario is hijacking, as it will not be the first time for the company Air Algerie to be a victim of hijackers. According to the British network there have been at least six similar incidents.

Bad weather is the most probable explanation for the disappearance of the aircraft, as according to a report, the control tower asked the governor to “change course over the Algerian border, because of bad weather and also so as to avoid another aircraft” . As the man who filled in the report states: “I suppose the plane did not collide with another aircraft, otherwise we would have references of a second plane that is gone missing,” so the weather scenario seems pretty likely.

The last scenario refers to information that the crash took place in Nigera, so this may mean that the crew decided to change its course to the east, but with the network not indicating any possible reasons for this change.
