Foreign Ministry announcement regarding the terrorist attacks in Sinai, Egypt

The foreign ministry assured the Egyptian people and the Egyptian government that Greece will continue to support their struggle against blind terrorist violence

The Greek foreign ministry released an announcement on October 25, condemning the terrorist attacks in Sinai, Egypt.

“We condemn the deplorable terrorist attacks in Sinai, Egypt, that cost the lives of over thirty people, while also wounding many others.

We express our condolences to the families of the victims and wish the wounded a speedy recovery.

We once again assure the Egyptian people and the Egyptian government that Greece will continue to support their struggle against blind terrorist violence, as well as their efforts towards a prosperous Egypt that will constitute a pillar of stability and security for the whole region of the Middle East and the Arab world.

We once again express our appreciation to the Egyptian authorities for the efforts they made to achieve the Gaza ceasefire, the sustainability of which also depends on recognition of and respect for those efforts.

Finally, we underscore the global significance of the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai. We thank the local authorities and call on the whole of the international community to turn its attention to this situation as well.”
