Glass window cracks in Embraer carrying Foreign Minister E. Venizelos

The jet transporting the minister from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s inauguration ceremony landed at Thessaloniki Airport for safety reasons

The Embraer carrying Greek Deputy Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos was forced to make forced landing at Thessaloniki’s airport. The forced landing reportedly took place after a fragment was noticed in the glass of one of the windows as the plane flew over the island of Thassos in the North Aegean. Venizelos was traveling from Ankara where he had attended the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The incident comes just a few days after Venizelos had been criticized for his use of the VIP jet.
