“Goodfellas”: The cast reveals secret tidbits during meet-up

They met in New York’s Beacon Theater

Goodfellas revelations galore. It might have been filmed in 1990, but “Goodfellas” made cinematic history due to its amazing cast and even better director, the legendary Martin Scorsese.

Writer Nicholas Pileggi, along with Ray Liotta, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino and Robert DeNiro met in New York’s Beacon Theater and spoke on the film. Some of the secrets are surprising.

-When Scorsese began calling Pileggi to offer him the writing of the film, the latter used to hang up repeatedly, thinking that a colleague was joking

-Paul Sorvino was ready to quit the movie because he didn’t like Paulie’s (his character) personality.

-The scary scenes of the psycho mafioso played by Joe Pesci were ad-libbed.
