Government in panic: They accuse Panousis of disclosing classified documents

As it results from the statements made by the two ministers who met with Supreme Court prosecutor

The Greek government accuses now former citizen protection minister Giannis Panousis for disclosing classified documents, as it results from the statements made by the two ministers who met with Supreme Court prosecutor.

Both Minister of Justice Nikos Paraskevopoulos and Deputy Minister of Citizen protection Nikos Toskas avoided, though, to use the word “suing”  trying to shift this responsibility to the prosecutor of the Supreme Court.

The meeting between the two ministers and the prosecutor of the Supreme Court, Efterpi Koutzamani, lasted less than an hour.

“We pointed out to the prosecutor of the Supreme Court an element which is particularly problematic regarding the disclosure of documents which appear to be classified and their reproduction and this may fall under criminal field”, said Mr. Paraskevopoulos exiting the Supreme Court.

“Apart from the legal issues arise, we believe that the public prosecutor will investigate a potential, actual or any leak of classified information which creates national security issues,” said Mr. Toskas.
