Govt seeks to speed up investment licensing process

The government hopes to help investors cut through the red tape

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas told Athina 9.84 FM radio station on Tuesday that the government would speed up the procedure for investments licensing.

“Taking into account that the licensing of investments may take 1 to 4 years, we plan to reduce it to six months. This would be a breakthrough,” he said.

Mardas underlined that the government’s aim is to reduce the required time for the approval of an investment while at the same time to respect the environmental rules.
