Greece acquires its first public especially designated area for breastfeeding

From the 2nd of November another 50 especially designated areas in cities across Greece

Is a fact. The first public especially designated area for breastfeeding is located on the third floor of the “Athens Heart Mall” and will open its doors on Saturday on the celebration of Breastfeeding Week.
For the occasion, on Saturday a few skilled health professionals will inform pregnant women and new mothers of helpful and practical advice on issues of breastfeeding.
In the past, the well known Sandy Koutsostamati a mother – psychologist-writer and presenter was told off by a security guard in a mall in Thessaloniki for breastfeeding.
After the incident in cooperation with the World Organization of breastfeeding, an simultaneous public breastfeeding protest was organized.
Many of the participant women were at the mall with their babies, showing their sympathy to Sandy Koutsostamati and expressed their believe that the public breastfeeding should not be a taboo anymore.
