Greece says ‘no’ to Austrian Interior Minister’s request to visit Athens

Mr. Mouzalas turned down the request saying that this is not possible with the borders closed

Greece has turned down a request by Austrian Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner to visit Athens.

The Greek side said that this cannot happen unless the decisions taken on the refugee issue are lifted.

According to sources, Mikl-Leitner wants to visit Greece in order to explain to Alternate Minister of Migration Yannis Mouzalas Austria’s views. Mr. Mouzalas, though, replied that this is not possible with the borders closed, but added that he would inform Prime Minister to take the final decision.
