A 36-year-age difference was not enough to hold this couple apart

Greek composer conductor Stavros Xarchakos, aged 76, married singer Iro Saia, aged 40, with whom he had been romantically involved with for the last three years.

The couple, who tied the knot at the Saint Dionysos chapel in Varkiza, coastal Athens, met professionally in 2011 during a dedication to the late Manos Hadjidakis at Gazarte. Later, Saia worked with Xarhakos in his musical dance presentation, titled “Aman Amin”, at the Acropol Theater.

Xarchakos emerged on the Greek music scene at around 1963 and is known for his compositions for the theater and cinema. He has also served as a conservative MEP.
