Greek-Cypriot agreement on SMEs

Greek-Cypriot memorandum for the sharing of information, knowhow and great collaboration between both countries’ SMEs

Greece and Cyprus signed a memorandum that comits them to reinforcing and developing their collaboration in relation to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The commitment was signed on Friday by Cypriot Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister Yiorgos Lakkotrypis and Greek Deputy Development and competitiveness Minister Odysseas Constantinopoulos.

Through this agreement, Greece and Cyprus pledge o further boost bilateral ties, cooperate as far as policies for SMEs are concerned and work towards the development of economic cooperation between SMEs in both countries. They agreed also to exchange information concerning best practices, knowhow, technology, IT infrastructures and expertise related to SMEs.

Greece agreed to offer Cyprus the template of the Greek digital platform Startup Greece to use in order to create a similar Cypriot platform without charge. This will serve to promote an information flow between both countries as well as networking and cooperation between the relevant authorities and businesses acting as the primary internet tool for promoting Cypriot innovation.
