Greek, Cypriot and Turkish students welcomed to German IPS scholarship program

Eight people from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey have the opportunity to participate in scholarships offered by German Parliament

The International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS) will welcome a total of 120 scholars from 41 countries to the German Bundestag, including eight people from Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.

The IPS program was presented by German CDU/CSI MP Bernhard Schulte-Drueggelte who heads the International Solidarity Programs of the Bundestag. He said that the program has only been offered to new members of the European Union’s eastern bloc however Germany decided that the participation of Greece, Cyprus and Turkey could be beneficial as a way of bridging differences.

The scholarships are offered to highly qualified, dedicated, open-minded and politically interested young men and women who have the will to shape the democratic future of their country actively and responsibly. IPS promotes exchange, understanding and cooperation between the participation countries and Germany and supports the formation of networks. The IPS program takes a total of 15 weeks and is composed of events, seminars and an internship at Members of the German Bundestag.

The scholarship holders take part in the Humboldt University of Berlin’s summer semester and also participate in programs of other universities. In addition, the participants will be introduced in studies seminars political foundations in the political, economic and cultural life of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Eligibility:
-Citizenship of a participating country
-university degree
-very good German language skills (at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
-younger than 30 years at the beginning of the scholarship
-Career goal: work in the field of public life in the home country (media, political parties, associations, civil service, etc.)

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: Applicants from following participating countries: German BundestagEgypt, Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Israel, Greece, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Morocco, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Palestinian Territories, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Syria, Czech Republic, Turkey, Tunisia, Ukraine, Hungary, USA and Cyprus can apply for this German scholarship.
