Greek film ‘Stratos’ continues its successful festival run

The film participates in the competition section of the European Film Festival Palic (Serbia, July 19-25).

Following its world premiere in the competition section of the Berlin Film Festival in 2014, Yannis Economides film ‘Stratos’ (To Mikro Psari) its continues its highly successful run at major international festivals.

‘Stratos’ won an award in Bildrausch – Basel Filmfestival in Switzerland (May 27-31) for lead actor Vangelis Mourikis’ amazing performance and received on July 11 the grand prize of Med Film Fest in Rome (Amore e Psiche award).
The MedFilm Festival jury honored the film which, “recalls Camus for its ability to tell the story a man who would like peace but ends up always in war, who does not guide events but lets himself be guided, rebelling only at the end”.
The film was also screened in the Horizons section of the International Film Festival of Karlovy Vary in July and it also participates in the competition section of the European Film Festival Palic (Serbia, July 19-25).

Plot
Stratos (Vangelis Mourikis) works at a baking factory at nights while during the day he is a hit-man. He is saving money in order to finance the escape of Leonidas (Alekos Pangalos), the man who saved Stratos’ life when he was in jail. However, Stratos’ plan for the escape implodes when the key players start betraying each other.
