Greeks pay the same prices for foods and beverages as Germans: Eurostat data

Northern European countries most expensive

According to 2015 Eurostat comparative price levels for food and non alcoholic beverages among 38 countries, Greece is on a par with Germany at 103% of the EU average 100. The data showed that northern European countries had to pay more on average for foods and beverages. The highest prices were recorded in Denmark (145%), followed by Sweden (124%), Austria (120%), Ireland and Finland (119%). The cheapest prices were found in Poland (63%), Romania (64%) and Bulgaria (70%). The survey includes 440 products.
