Have Cern scientists discovered a new particle? (video)

Properties of new particle not known yet

The discovery of the ‘Higgs’ boson particle at the Cern hadron collider under France and Switzerland was a major breakthrough for physicists about the big bang theory. The Higgs boson, however, was something scientists involved in the project had predicted would be there, and were therefore looking for. This time there is a possibility that physicists at Cern might have found an unknown particle that is much larger than the Higgs particle, which was 100 times larger than a proton. This new particle is 800 times larger than a proton, and as Caltech theoretical physicists, Sean Carrol says even though its properties are still unknown, it could open up a ‘whole new window into particles’.
