Horror fiction author Stephen King spooked by Donald Trump

“My newest horror story”

Earlier on today, horror fiction author Stephen King tweeted from Maine where he lives that he would be going offline for a while, a decision brought on by the bitter defeat of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. “No more book recommendations, politics, or amusing dog pictures for the immediate future,” he tweeted to his 2.5 million followers. “I’m shutting down.”

Prior to the election, the famous author had put out other irreverent tweets about Republican Donald Trump, referring to him as a “rabid coyote” in one while tweeting: “My newest horror story: Once upon a time there was a man named Donald Trump, and he ran for president. Some people wanted him to win,” in another.  He also called the 2016 U.S. presidential election the “ugliest election in living memory.”

Electoral votes in Maine were split, with Clinton collecting three electoral votes in the statewide vote, and Trump taking one in the state’s more conservative second district.
