After Proto Thema revealed the poor living conditions of the four member family the Deputy regional governor of Athens made an intervention, while a rainfall of calls to Proto Thema proves once again that humanity is above all.
Proto Thema revealed the shocking story of a family of four living for the last two weeks in a car in the area of Neo Iraklio.
Once the story became known, the Deputy regional governor Mr. Giorgos Karameros intervened and already has placed the parents with their two daughters temporarily for four days in a hotel in Halandri.
This morning 16 year old Fay, 14 year old Katerina and their parents made their way to the hotel with their few belongings.
The objective is to find a home for the family, preferably in the area of New Iraklion where the two girls go to school, which is why the mayor of the area Mr. Nikos Babalos is in an all day meeting with social services.
It is worth mentioning that dozens of citizens have contacted the Region, the Municipality, as well as TV programs that presented the Proto Thema shocking report, and made all kinds of offers and donations for the family, even a roof over their heads until they stand in their own feet.
