Statements by government members indicate the critical point at which discussions are conducted in all levels.
Government members leave open the possibility of a last minute acceleration of developments on the decision about Greece in Eurogroup on the 8th of December, or a possible extension or even a “freeze” of negotiations which will also lead to an extension of the Memorandum.
The Greek government wants to believe that in case we proceed to an inevitable extension, that it will also last for an extra month. However there are estimates that a hypothetical extension could last up to six months.
Although negotiations seem to have reached a deadlock, emails between the government and the lenders continue back and forward. The Greek government does not want to be blamed for ending negotiations.
