Lefteris Zagoritis is the new Consumer Ombudsman

The independent authority supervised the European Consumer Centre-Greece and mediated between banks and debtors

Lefteris Zagoritis on Friday became the new Consumer Ombudsman, replacing Evangelos Zerveas who served a six-year term.

According to a relative statement, during Zerveas’ term in office, the independent authority Hellenic Consumers’ Ombudsman supervised the European Consumer Centre-Greece and mediated between banks and debtors for the settlement of unserviced loans.

The authority also took independent actions to deal with dysfunctions in crucial sectors of the market and specifically in the sectors of banks, insurance, telecommunication, energy and private education.
